Finite element simulation study on cutting coal and rock by cutting head of roadheader

Abstract In order to improve the cutting efficiency of roadheader and address challenge monitoring load head pick, a simulation method was proposed using ABAQUS finite element software simulate at different depths under various conditions. According coal test, model developed Drucker-Prager as constitutive conical pick coal. The results analysis were compared with test results, reliability former confirmed. study further involved establishing working conditions, torque waveform obtained through simulation. MATLAB employed program theoretical formula, waveforms force obtained. Additionally, mean value each in conditions statistically analyzed, its distribution law showed that good consistency calculation indicating both reasonable feasible for simulating process. Finite combined can be used stability control dynamic load, provide basis improving efficiency.
